Poirino is situated in the middle of a wide merely agricultural upland called Pianalto including also the municipal districts of Santena, Pralormo and Villastellone.
This place is famous for the asparagus growing whose peak is reached in the months of April and May and for the golden humpbacked tench, a freshwater fish growing in the shallow and muddy water of small natural lakes (fishponds) surrounding Poirino. |
